University proficiency exam kicks off

Amman, The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (HEAC) began conducting the university proficiency exam for students expected to graduate in the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020.

The number of students who will take the exam, which will continue until Sunday, amounts to 17649 students, including about 12,368 students from public universities and 5281 students from private universities, the HEAC said in a statement.

This year the exam will be limited to the general levels, which constitute 40 percent of the exam questions and the precise level, which represents 60 percent of the exam questions, which consists of 75 questions, the statement added.

It explained that mechanisms of the university proficiency exam were developed, where its paragraphs were drafted based on learning outcomes in each program and areas of knowledge in order to improve the educational process.
