The Military Attache at the UAE Embassy in Washington D.C. has celebrated the 43rd Anniversary of the UAE’s Armed Forces Unification Day.
The celebration was attended by Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, Brigadier General Essa Rashid Obaid Al Ali, the UAE Military Attache in Washington, ambassadors of Arab countries, as well as US military and police officials.
Ambassador Al Otaiba extended the embassy’s congratulations to the UAE leadership and Armed Forces leaders on occasion. He highlighted the UAE citizens’ pride in their Armed Forces, and affirmed the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the UAE and the US in all areas, including military and security cooperation.
He added that these relations are deeply rooted and based on solid foundations of mutual respect and interests.
Al Otaiba noted that the accomplishments of the UAE Armed Forces would not have happened without the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
Brigadier Al Ali spoke on behalf of the military staff at the embassy, highlighting the role and the strong will of the Founding Fathers that lead to unifying the UAE Armed Forces under one leadership and one flag based on their belief that the Federation can protect and provide security and reassurance to its proud people and defend the nation. “We must also remember the brave Emiratis who sacrificed their lives while serving their nation and humanitarian and just causes in various parts of the world.”
The celebration included a video about the UAE Armed Forces and was also attended by heads and members of the diplomatic corps and military attaches in Washington D.C.
