Amman, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Adel Tweisi, on Thursday met the World Bank’s Lead Tertiary Education Specialist, and Coordinator of its Network of Higher Education Specialists, Francisco Marmolejo, for talks on governance measures carried out by the Jordanian universities.
During the meeting, the two sides also looked into means to exchange expertise, improve the quality of education and raise the governance level in the Jordanian universities, which would reflect positively on boosting their competitiveness and output quality levels.
Tweisi said the ministry applied the quality assurance standards in the country’s universities in line with the national strategy for human resources development, and noted are a number of Jordanian universities have already obtained local and international quality assurance certificates.
Marmolejo, for his part, praised high level of Jordan’s universities, especially in quality assurance and governance fields.
