Aqaba, A technical failure botched the demolition of grain silos in the old port of Aqaba, according to the Turkish company in charge of the operation.
The explosives had successfully set off, but strength of the concrete structure prevented the silos to crumble, said representative of the Turkish company, Mohammed Gorol, on Wednesday.
He announced the company is responsible for this technical flaw, adding it is committed to pay expenses of silos demolition and to complete the operation as quickly as possible.
He said the company will resort to demolition using the machines, and will not seek a new bombing operation.
