Turkey announces 1st COVID-19-related death

The Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, announced the first death of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a press conference held Tuesday in Ankara, Koca said the deceased is a 89-year old, who was infected with the virus by an employee who visited China, according to the Anadolu Agency.

Koca added that Turkey reported 51 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 98.
