SSC sentences terror suspects to hard labor

Amman, The State Security Court (SSC) on Sunday issued rulings on 6 men ranging from 3 months to 15 years with temporary hard labour after convicting them of plotting to carry out terror acts targeting General Intelligence Directorate (GID) and Royal Air Force (RAF) personnel using firearms.

During a public session, the SSC sentenced three defendants to 15 years behind the bars on charges of conspiracy to commit terrorist acts, possession of weapons, manufacturing explosives and promoting terrorist ideology.

The court also sentenced the fourth defendant to 5 years in prison for promoting terrorist ideology and failing to report a terrorist plot.

One of the suspects was handed a 3-month verdict and another was given a 6-month sentence for the possession of unlicensed weapons, while one defendant was found innocent of all charges.
