Amman, The Senate’s Legal Committee endorsed on Thursday the amended draft of the integrity and anti-corruption law, as referred from the Lower House.
The meeting, which was chaired by President of the Legal Committee Senator Kamal Barham, was attended by Minister of Justice Dr. Bassam Talhouni, and Chairman of the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) Muhannad Hijazi.
According to the bill, the JIACC can follow up on the “abnormal growth” of wealth to fend off corrupt practices.
The bill also identified the authorities and tasks assumed by JIACC’s president to enhance the commission’s performance, to boost its “preemptive” role, and safeguard public funds.
