Amman, Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki al-Saud on Tuesday highlighted the historically close Jordanian-Saudi relations, and said Riyadh highly valued Jordan’s positions on Arab, regional and international issues.
“The brotherly relations between the two countries are based on effective coordination between their leaderships and governments in all fields,” Prince Khalid said during a meeting of the Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Committee.
He stressed that Saudi Arabia “will not hesitate to provide the necessary support for Jordan to continue its pivotal role in the region, noting Jordan’s humanitarian role in addressing refugee issues”.
He pointed out that cooperation and consultation between the Jordanian and Saudi leadership will continue to promote relations and serve the interests of both countries.
The ambassador also stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, adding that Saudi Arabia is in agreement with Jordan regarding this issue.
He said his country would continue to support Jordan in the economic field and will work on increasing Saudi investments in Jordan.
