Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, instructed the water, and health ministers to administer a probe into causes of the food poisoning incident in the Ein Basha area, which sickened large numbers and killed a child.
On Tuesday, Ein Basha, an area neighboring the capital Amman, has seen several people poisoned after buying contaminated meals from a local restaurant.
Razzaz stressed the necessity to follow up on results of laboratory tests administered by the ad hoc teams, and taking legal measures against violators if failure or violation of public health and safety conditions is proved.
Speaking over the phone with the family of the deceased child, Razzaz offered the government’s condolences over this “great” loss, wishing the hospitalized patients a speedy recovery.
