Amman, The Public Prosecutor of the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) has asked for authorization from competent authorities to pursue legal action against a former health minister on charges of nepotism and favoritism.
According to the indictment, the former health minister is accused of unlawfully allowing a relative to re-sit for the annual orthopedic surgery residency evaluation although he was not eligible. Other persons implicated in the case have been already convicted of accepting nepotism, a source at the JIACC announced on Sunday.
On the other hand, the JIACC Public Prosecutor issued an indictment against a current member of the Lower House of parliament for being implicated in forgery of official stamp case along with his brother and other people in police custody.
The public prosecutor sent a request to the parliament to lift that MP’s immunity in addition to freezing his and other accomplices’ assets and preventing them from travel.
