HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal received yesterday the Tunisian Minister of Religious Affairs Ahmed Azoum and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Nasser Abu AlBasal, and the Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled AlSuhaili, Prince El Hassan highlighted the importance of “maximizing commonalities and respecting differences”, calling for reviving the path of ideas across the Arab world, which requires intellectual interaction based on faith, ethics, science and work and the promotion of futuristic and valuedriven studies.
The Prince pointed to the need to strengthen the concept of consultation, revive dialogue between sects based on analytical thought, develop a culture of participation, focus on human dignity and openness to the culture of the other, and transcend above differences.
For his part, the Tunisian minister praised the Jordanian experience, which conveys to the world the true picture of Islam and Muslims, underlining the importance of countering the challenges facing the region through consultation that reflect Islam as a religion of mercy, justice and equality.
