Amman, Prime Minister Dr. Omar Razzaz on Wednesday said the government and the Public Security Department agreed to formulate a multi-stakeholder plan to intensify the fight against narcotics which, he said, the country is “at war with”.
Following a briefing of the cabinet on the 2018-2012 National Anti-Narcotics Strategy, the prime minister vowed zero-tolerance with drugs trafficking and use and said there will be no room for nepotism or interference by anyone in any narcotics-related case.
Razzaz emphasized the importance of public campaigns designed to raise awareness among the various components of the society on the dangers drugs pose to the health and to the society.
The briefing was delivered by Director of Public Security Maj. Gen. Fadel Al-Hamoud and Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Brig. Anwar Tarawneh.
