Amman, Statistics released by the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) showed that the net of non-Jordanian inestments in August 2018 showed an increase by JD11.6 million, compared with an increase by JD5.9 million during the same month of 2017.
Statistics hae also shown that the total alue of shares bought by non-Jordanian inestors at the ASE in August 2018 was JD79.5 million, representing 41.5% of the oerall trading alue, while the alue of shares sold by them amounted to JD67.9 million.
The total alue of shares that were bought by non-Jordanian inestors since the beginning of the year until the end of August was JD338.9 million, representing 31.4% of the oerall trading alue, while the alue of shares sold by them amounted to JD311 million. As a result, the net of non-Jordanian inestments showed an increase of JD27.9 million, compared to a decrease by JD338.8 million for the same period of 2017.
Arab inestors purchases since the beginning of the year until the end of August 2018 were JD158.9 million, or 46.9% of the oerall purchases by non-Jordanians, while the alue of non-Arab purchases amounted to JD179.9 million, constituting 53.1% of the total purchases.
Arab inestors sales amounted to JD116.5 million, 37.5% of non-Jordanians total sales, while the alue of non-Arab sales amounted to JD194.4 million, representing 62.5% of the total sales by non-Jordanians.
Non-Jordanian inestors’ ownership in companies listed at the ASE by end of August 2018 represented 49% of the total market alue, 37.2% for Arab inestors and 11.8% for non-Arab inestors.
At the sector leel, the non-Jordanian ownership in the financial sector was 54.7%, in the serices sector was 18.8%, and in the industrial sector was 53.3%.
