Labour, Industry Ministers follow up on implementing Cabinet’s decisions

Ministers of Labour, Nidal Bataineh, and Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq Hammouri, on Tuesday evening followed up on procedures at the Operations and Control Room, established in the Labour Ministry.

Both Ministers gave instructions to the Ministry’s cadres to provide the highest levels of around-the-clock service for employers and workers in such circumstances.

Bataineh called on the ministry’s inspection personnel to closely follow up on the implementation of the Cabinet’s decisions and subsequent executive decisions issued by Labor and Industry Ministries, as well as ensuring the enforcement of all these decisions in all governorates and to address any violation thereof.

The Ministry’s emergency room received 1129 calls from workers in the private sector, including 957 consultations, 70 complaints, 540 questions related to classification of the vital sector on whether they were included in the leave decision or not, in addition to questions about flexible work, remote work, leaves and wages.

The two ministers instructed the Operations and Control Room to prepare a procedural guide for employers and employees in order to clarify all decisions and procedures.
