Labor Minister, USAID Deputy Mission Director discuss supporting national service program

Amman, Labor Minister Nidal Batayneh on Monday discussed with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Mission Director Ralph Koehring, ways to increase cooperation between the ministry and the agency in various labor areas.

During the meeting, Batayneh underlined the USAID’s leading role in providing economic, development, and humanitarian aid to countries around the world including Jordan.

He expressed keenness for cooperation with the agency in various fields namely in supporting the development of the Khidmat Watan (Serving the Nation) program as the ministry aims to take improvement measures that would increase the trainees’ skills and their training revenue according to market needs.

The Khidmat Watan program aims to develop its students capacities to ensure they obtain job opportunities.

The two sides agreed to form a joint committee to establish proposals over the coming weeks to begin implementing a joint action plan that contributes to enhancing the program.
