Abu Dhabi, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in defining and best diligent application of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) principles in both countries.
The MoU, signed by the National Commission for the Implementation of IHL in Jordan and its UAE counterpart, entails the two parties shall work together to develop joint plans, programs and actions, in cooperation with the competent authorities.
It also provides that the two parties should contribute in the development of IHL provisions concerned in protecting victims of armed conflict and complete actions aimed at promoting the application of these provisions at the international level.
The MoU was signed at the sidelines of the International Humanitarian Law conference, kicked off yesterday in Abu Dhabi.
