Jordan to pay off $1.25bln Eurobonds

Amman, The Ministry of Finance on Wednesday announced that it is “ready and fully prepared” to pay off $1.25 billion U.S. government-guaranteed Eurobonds issued in October of 2013.

In a statement, the ministry said the payment will be made on October 30th. It emphasized that it has been ready for months to pay off the amount and has been coordinating with the Central Bank of Jordan to handle the transfer on time.

It explained that the repayment amount was made available through the issuance of conventional $1.75 billion Eurobonds on international markets in June.
