Israeli troops seal off areas to find shooter

Ramallah, Israeli occupation forces late Sunday sealed off the entrances of Kifl Haris, Haris and Deir Istiya villages, as it carried out an extensive search campaign looking for the shooter, who killed and injured a number of Israelis yesterday near the West Bank city of Salfit, a Palestinian source said.

A statement by the Palestinian official in charge of Israeli settlements file in the northern part of the West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas, said that dozens of extremist settlers deployed at the crossroads in Salfit province, and the main roads leading to other provinces and threw stones at the Palestinians’ passing vehicles.

Also today, the Israeli forces closed the entrance to Kafr al-Dik village, west of Salfit, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving the area.

A statement by Kafr al-Dik council said that Israeli army broke into people houses looking for the shooter, adding that settlers were also deployed at the village’s entrances, who started throwing stones at citizens’ vehicles.
