Amman, Israeli war planes targeted Syrian territories with rockets early Thursday for the second time and the country’s air defenses have confronted them, Syria state-run news agency (SANA) reported.
Israeli war planes launched tens of rockets from inside the occupied Palestinian territories targeting Syrian cities, but the country’s air defenses brought down tens of Israeli missiles, preventing most of them from reaching their targets, while some managed to hit a number of air defense battalions, radars, and an ammunition depot.
State-run al-Ikhbariya TV broadcasted live footage of the air defenses as they were confronting the Israeli rockets.
“Israel is trying to target air defense battalions and destroy some radars,” SANA said without specifying the target areas. Also today, Syria air defenses brought down a number Israeli rockets south of the city of Homs, SANA added.
Syrian sources also reported that an air strike targeted Artillery Battalion 137 near Sasaa in the outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
