Irbid exports rise by 17%

Irbid exports to overseas and Arab markets increased by 17% during the 1st half of 2018, at USD 368 million compared to USD314.5 million the same period 2017, out of which the value of leather and fabrics products amounted to USD326 million.

Exports of foodstuff and textile products rose by USD12 million, and the chemical industries and cosmetics surged by USD5 million.

On destination of the exports, President of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, said the US market ranked first with over USD286 million, the European Union came second with USD16 million, followed by Canada with USD8 million, and finally the East Asian markets at USD3 million.
