Iraqi premier receives Jordan’s envoy in Baghdad

Jordan’s ambassador in Baghdad Muntaser al-Zou’bi Thursday discussed with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi prospects of fostering cooperation between both countries in various domains.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office said “al-Abadi received ambassador of Jordan for talks on ways to step up mutual cooperation and bilateral ties to serve the interests of both countries’ peoples”.

On the other hand, an official source told Petra’s correspondent in Baghdad that the Iraqi government was enthusiastic about enhancing economic cooperation with Jordan and reopen the Turaibil border crossing, which would boost ties between the two sides.
