Iraqi oil supplies increased as precaution: Energy Ministry

Energy Minister, Hala Zawati, said Iraqi oil supplies rate was increased to about 13,000 barrels per day, as the Jordan Petroleum Refinery (JoPetrol) total imports of Iraqi oil during the first half of this month amounted to 196500 barrels.

Coordination has been made with the Iraqi side, to increase loading and transportation rates, in order to provide JoPetrol with all contractual quantities of crude oil in March 2020, in anticipation of any emergency in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Zawati said Wednesday in a statement.

Speaking on the Kingdom’s total imports of Iraqi crude oil, as of mid-March, Zawati said JoPetrol has received 2 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil since the start of unloading Iraqi crude oil at the refinery / Zarqa site on September 2019, with a daily rate of about 10.25 thousand barrels, transported by 7851 Iraqi and Jordanian trucks.
