Amman, The General Industrial Production Quantities index for the first nine months of 2018 dropped by 6.3 percent, compared with the same period in 2017, according to latest figures.
The production quantities of the manufacturing industries index slumped by 7.3%, with a relative importance of 86.0%, and the quantities of electricity production index by 3.3%, with a relative importance of 5.8%, a report issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) indicates.
The report showed an increase in the General Industrial price index to 120, against 112 for the period of 2017, recording a growth by 7.5%.
The surge comes as a result of an increase in the price index of manufacturing industries by 6.69 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%, and the price index of extracted industries by 0.95% with a relative importance of 8.2%, while the price index of electricity production decreased by 0.12% with a relative importance of 5.8%, the DoS report shows.
