Dead Sea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Jafar Hassan, on Wednesday, met with Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister for Industry and Energy Affairs, Vladimir Semashko for a discussion on economic relations between the two countries and means of developing them in various fields.
The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s Board of Governors’ annual meeting in the Dead Sea region, stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture and public transport, as well as increasing trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
Hassan and Semashko underlined the importance of holding the Joint Economic and Trade Committee meeting between the two countries at the end of June to activate agreements and protocols of cooperation and establish partnerships that serve common interests of Jordan and Belarus.
Hassan highlighted a variety of investment opportunities that the Jordanian economy offers, which are supported by a range of free trade agreements with many countries in the world, noting that Jordan is interested in benefiting from Belarus’ expertise in the fields of industrialization and agricultural technology, as well as the need to activate bilateral tourism between the two countries.
The Belarus’ Deputy Prime expressed his country’s desire to expand relations with Jordan, especially in the fields of manufacturing and transport, in order to expand trade relations and implement economic projects in the Kingdom.
