vAmman, The government’s human rights coordinator, Basel Tarawneh, on Wednesday, received Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Sergii Petukhov, and an accompanying delegation.
Tarawneh said there are serious steps and constructive cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and issues that were discussed will be referred to concerned bodies and institutions. He added that human rights is an issue of great interest to the Jordanian leadership.
He pointed out to the importance of the comprehensive national human rights plan as it was set up under royal directives and considered it a ten-way road map for the human rights system in Jordan.
The Ukrainian official lauded Jordan’s reputation regarding human rights, and said his country is keen on increasing cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom in the field of human rights and benefit from its expertise with regard to the rights of refugees and displaced persons.
