Gov’t condemns Kandahar suicide attack

Amman, The government on Tuesday condemned the suicide attack that took place in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan, leaving 16 killed and 40 injured.

State Minister for Media Affairs Mohammad Al-Momani, said this cowardly terrorist act is but a new evident to the evil of terrorist organizations, their enmity towards life, and to their constant targeting of innocent people all over the world.

This new terrorist act should make the entire world work together in fighting terrorism, Momani added.

He affirmed that Jordan stands with Afghanistan in combating terrorism, expressing the Kingdom’s deepest sorrow for the dead, wishing the injured speedy recovery.

Provincial Governor Spokesman, Daud Ahmadi, announced Tuesday that a minivan parked in an auto repair garage caught the attention of security forces. It was laden with large quantities of explosives, prompting bomb disposal experts to try to defuse it, but unfortunately it detonated.
