Amman, The General Directorate of Gendarmerie on Tuesday launched a training program designed to build capacities on critical incident response, as part of supporting capacity building between the gendarmerie forces and the Canadian government.
During a meeting with Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Peter McDougall, General Director of Gendarmerie Major General Hussein Mohammed al-Hawatmeh, said that the gendarmerie forces, in accordance with the royal directives, is keen to develop its staff through specialized training and international partnerships to gain access to best practices.
McDougall stressed the Canadian government’s keenness to support the Kingdom’s efforts in the humanitarian, development and security fields. He pointed out that this training program comes within the framework of an extended strategy and a series of training programs carried out by the Gendarmerie forces in cooperation with the Canadian side to support the security and humanitarian role of the Jordanian Gendarmerie forces .
