Amman, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Monday condemned “in the strongest terms” the sabotage operations that targeted four commercial vessels near the United Arab Emirates (UAE) territorial waters .
Ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, reiterated Jordan’s firm rejection of any criminal act that threatens the security and safety of maritime navigation in the Arabian Gulf, whatever its source.
The spokesperson stressed that Jordan stands firmly by the UAE brothers in confronting any attempt to undermine its security and stability.
Four commercial vessels were targeted by “sabotage operations” near the territorial waters of the UAE without causing casualties, a statement by the UAE foreign ministry said on Sunday.
The incident occurred near the UAE emirate of Fujairah, it said.
The ministry added it had launched an investigation in coordination with international authorities.
