Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government Ayman Safadi received, on Thursday, a phone call from his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney, during which the two diplomats discussed bilateral ties, as well as, the latest developments in the Middle East region.
The two sides, during the telephone conversation, voiced their countries’ solidarity in combating the novel coronavirus.
The Palestinian cause topped the agenda of the discussion, as the two ministers stressed the need to relaunch a serious and effective negotiations based on the two-state solution in accordance with international law and approved references.
Safadi highlighted the Irish stance that supports the two state-solution, and Dublin’s efforts in the framework of the EU in this regard.
Safadi, and Coveney, who is also Defense Minister, agreed to continue coordination and consultation over cementing ties between Amman and Dublin in various scopes.
