Ramallah, A group of Jewish extremist settlers on Tuesday forced their way into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, in East Jerusalem, according to a Palestinian official.
General Director of the Jerusalem Endowment and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, told Petra’s reporter in Ramallah that settlers raided the compound’s yards entering from the Magharbeh gate under heavy protection of Israeli occupation forces.
“The extremists performed provocative Talmudic rituals inside the Muslim’s holt shrine and provocatively toured the holy place”, he added.
Earlier this week, members of “the alleged ‘Temple Mount’ organizations have called on their supporters to widely participate in Al-Aqsa’s today’s incursion, to coincide with the Israeli Knesset elections.
