Explosive device neutralized by Sri Lankan Police

Amman, Sri Lankan police on Monday reported that the country’s Air Force has detected and neutralized an Improvised Explosive Device in the vicinity of Colombo’s main airport.

A Police source told AFP that the device is a “home-made” bomb, made of explosives inside a tube, adding that it was found on a road leading to the main terminal of Bandaranaike International Airport in Sri Lanka.

“The Airport continued its work, but under heavy security, following the series of deadly bombings that hit several churches and hotels across the country on Easter.
