Amman, The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has automated the access to information service through submitting an online notice by the applicant whose inquires will be addressed during the statutory period which has been curtailed from 30 to 15 days.
The step was announced yesterday during a conference organized by the Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists.
“The ministry has embarked on institutional practices when it comes to enforcement of law ensuring the right to obtain information”, Secretary-General for the ministry Amany Azzam said.
Such practices, she pointed out, were substantiated towards realizing the ministry’s goal concerning strengthening the efficiency of institutional performance.
The service has been fully automated starting from submitting the application to the responding stage. The applicant should receive an online notice and answers to his/her inquiries within the prescribed period. An applicant satisfaction surveys should also be part of the process.
