Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts Higher Committee, Mohammad Abu Rumman, said Jerash Festival represents a great heritage and a social, cultural and artistic phenomenon.
The minister gave his remarks in a press conference, attended by the festival executive director Ayman Samawi, and held Monday to announce the festival 34th session’s program and events and the new policies to develop, improve and renew the festival and its outputs.
Abu Rumman added that the festival is a national, Arab and international one “and we all have to make a success out of it because its success will reflect on us in the fields of culture, art, economy and tourism.”
The committee worked to provide a comprehensive vision for the festival, introducing it as a national, Arab and international festival, in the sense that the Jordanian artist and intellectual should be celebrated and highlighted by the Arab and the world, and the keenness on a qualitative Arab participation and a high level world participation.
He noted the keenness of the Higher Committee to produce national songs with new rhymes with national, symbolic and cultural dimensions.
