Crackdown on unlicensed weapons continues, says PSD

Amman, The Public Security Department’s (PSD) personnel have arrested 69 people in various governorates in the Kingdom, 80 of which in possession of firearms, including a minor and three non-Jordanian Arab nationals, the department announced on Wednesday.

Their apprehension came during the 17th and 18th weeks of the crackdown campaign carried out since June 27, the PSD noted, adding all the necessary legal and administrative measures were taken in this regard.

In its statement, the PSD said 1,298 people were arrested with 1,528 firearms since the beginning of the campaign to curb festive firing and the ownership of unlicensed firearms.
