The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) held a press conference on Monday to announce the achievements of Naua, a CPF initiative launched two years ago in cooperation with the private sector.
Naua links donors with charities and foundations electronically and operates within a clear framework to measure and showcase social impact.
The initiative collected more than JOD3.3 million donations to support over 100 projects in various governorates across the Kingdom.
The press conference also reviewed the achievements of the Nahno platform, a national platform aimed at promoting volunteering and youth participation.
“In 2015, the Crown Prince Foundation was established to oversee the implementation of the initiatives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II,” said Tamam Mango, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer.
The Foundation, she added, envisions an “enabled youth for an ambitious Jordan,” working within specific axes, such as readiness to work, leadership and citizenship.
During the conference, which was streamed live on social media platforms, Mango pointed to the CPF’s strategic goals, including strengthening and enabling a supportive youth environment, reaching and influencing young men and women, and leading comprehensive initiatives.
Ahmad Zu’bi, the CPF Chief Executive Officer, said over 600,000 people benefited directly from projects implemented by civil society organizations and charities.
Zu’bi thanked CPF partners, including donors and civil society institutions, for their trust and support, describing them as “the reason for these accomplishments.”
On the Nahno platform, Zu’bi said: “We value the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Our joint work has contributed to reaching more than 40,000 users of the platform. The number of volunteer opportunities provided was more than 95,000, while the total number of volunteer hours was more than a million.”
Attendees, which included representatives from various media outlets, discussed a number of important issues to Jordanian youth, and stressed the need to unify efforts to implement the visions and aspirations of the Crown Prince to raise awareness about important social and development issues that contribute to building a brighter future.
