Britain: European elections on May 23

LONDON, The United Kingdom has set a date for European elections on May 23 after three years of voting for Britain’s exit from the European Union, a British government spokesman said Monday.

“The government is still planning to exit the EU by agreement and intends to pass the necessary legislation before May 22 so that we do not need to participate” in the elections, which will be canceled if this happens, the spokesman added.
