Minister of Finance, Ezzeddine Kanakrieh, on Sunday discussed with Chairman of the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group, Abdul Majeed Rahamna means to attract new investments to the Kingdom.
In a statement, the group said that Kanakrieh stressed the importance of promoting investment environment and procedures to attract new investments in Jordan’s six free zones, namely, the free zone at Queen Alia International Airport.
He also discussed investment opportunities in the Dead Sea Development Zone and Ajloun Development Zone, noting that a tender for the Ajloun Chairlift project is expected to be floated before the end of this year.
On fighting against smuggling, the Finance Minister stressed the need for all competent parties to take appropriate actions to prevent smuggling from inside the Free Zones.
The minister urged all stakeholders to intensify their efforts to put the investment environment on its right track in order to create an attractive one in this key field.
