Hassan Ahmed Al Shehhi, UAE Ambassador to Baghdad, conveyed the condolences of the UAE’s leadership and people to Adel Abdul-Mahdi, Iraqi Prime Minister, for the victims of the ferry which capsized near the city of Mosul, during a visit he made today to a mourning majlis in Baghdad.
Ambassador Al Shehhi wrote in the book of condolences, expressing his grief over the incident which led to the death of more than 100 people.
Meanwhile, the UAE Ambassador met today with Mohammed Al Halbousi, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq, and also offered to him his condolences.
Additionally, the meeting touched on bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
Al Halbousi thanked Ambassador Al Shehhi for his efforts in strengthening fraternal ties between the two countries, and wished him success in his new assignment.
