Agriculture, Environment Minister meets German, Kazakhstan Ambassadors

Amman, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Minister Ibrahim Shahahdeh met Wednesday German Ambassador to Jordan, Birgitta Siefker-Eberle, in the presence of Director of the Environment and Climate Program at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Colin Gleichmann.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in the agriculture and environment sectors.

They also discussed financing the implementation of environmental projects of importance to the climate change, green growth and waste management.

The German Ambassador lauded Jordan’s efforts to secure and improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees despite economic pressures it faces.

She expressed the German government’s keenness to continue providing financial and technical support to enable Jordan to implement projects listed in its plans and programs.

In another meeting, Minister Shahahdeh and Kazakhstan Ambassador to Jordan Azamat Berdibay discussed bilateral ties.

Shahahdeh said Jordan is highly interested in increasing trade exchange between the two countries, specifically in the agricultural sector.

He expressed readiness to remove obstacles to the development of joint cooperation, especially in the field of transport of goods.

Kazakhstan Ambassador stressed the importance of bilateral relations, pointing out that his government is interested in benefiting from the Jordanian expertise in the field of agricultural production of various kinds, as well as the manufacture of pesticides and vaccines.
