“About 53 homes were destroyed,” Peru’s civil defense coordinator, Ricardo Seijas, told the press.
The earthquake was around 75 km southeast of Lagunas town in the northern Peru.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) put the depth at 110 kilometers, while the Institute of Geophysics of Peru said it was 141 kilometers deep.
