27 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli army in Nablus

Ramallah, Some 27 Palestinian youths were wounded early Wednesday following violent clashes broke out with Israeli occupation forces, who stormed the West Bank city of Nablus, a Palestinian source said.

During the confrontations, which centered in the surrounding area of “Joseph Tomb”, Amman Street and Al-Ghawi junction, east of the city, Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated bullets and toxic tear gas against the Palestinians, leaving 27 youths injured, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said in a statement.

The injured were taken to the Rafidia Hospital for treatment, the statement added.

Early today, some 1,500 settlers led by Knesset members of the Likud party and Chairman of the Settlements’ Council Yossi Dagan stormed “Joseph Tomb” under heavy protection of Israeli army .

The extremist’s stormed the Muslim’s shrine to perform their religious rituals on the pretext of the Jewish Passover holiday.
