Some 155 Jewish extremist settlers and students, on Wednesday, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Haram Al Sharif compound in occupied Jerusalem, a Palestinian source confirmed.
In a statement to “Petra” reporter in Ramallah, General Director of the Islamic Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, said the radicals carried out the raid from Al-Magharebah Gate, under heavy protection of Israeli police.
About 43 Jewish settlers, 105 students and 7 members of the Israeli intelligence stormed the compound, toured its courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals, while Muslim worshipers, al-Murabitun and the Mosque’s guards peacefully confronted them chanting Allahu Akbar (God is greater), Al-Khatib said.
Also today, Israeli troops seized equipment of a Palestinian-owned blacksmith workshop in Kafr Al-Dik town, southwest of Salfit, under unjustified pretexts, the town’s mayor Ibrahim Al-Issa said in a statement.
“The occupation soldiers have previously closed the workshop a year ago” he noted.
Israeli forces also seized a Palestinian bulldozer in Salem town east of Nablus, while paving a road in Ras Al-Ain, north of the town, Palestinian official in charge of the settlement file in the northern part of the West Bank, Ghassan Douglas, said in a statement.
