BDF holds specialised officers’ courses graduation

Manama, The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) held a graduation ceremony for one of the specialised officers’ courses.

Major-General Ibrahim Ghanim Al Fadhala, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at the BDF.

The Assistant Chief of Staff handed out certificates to the graduates and prizes to the outstanding.

Education Minister receives UK Ambassador

Manama, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister, received Alastair Long, UK Ambassador to Bahrain.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in public, technical and higher education.

The minister expressed thanks to the British Embassy for supporting the Education Ministry’s programmes related to teaching the English language by training teachers on their teaching methods and strategies, affirming the Ministry’s keenness to broaden such cooperation.

Education Minister receives ARKS officials

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, received a delegation from the board of directors at Abdulrahman Kanoo School, Diyar (ARKS), headed by Tariq Abdullatif and Faisal Kanoo, Vice Chairman of the board.

The meeting discussed the preparations for opening the new branch at Diyar Al Muharraq.

The minister was briefed on the board of directors’ development plans for the school’s programmes and projects.

They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between ARKS and government schools, as well as ways to enhance educational and societal partnership.

The Minister of Higher Education Stresses The Importance Of Cooperation With IAEA In The Clean Energy

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Atomic Energy, Naeem Al-Aboudi, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency in the fields of clean energy.

A statement by the Ministry of Education said that Al-Aboudi met with the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, and discussed with him the International Atomic Energy Agency’s support for Iraq in the peaceful use of atomic energy in many scientific fields that serve the sustainable development environment and its goals.”

The Minister of Education stressed “the importance of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency in the field of fragmentation and production of radioactive isotopes, enabling Iraq to combat cancer, supporting the agricultural sector, combating insects, desalinating well water for agricultural purposes, using clean energy in producing electricity, confronting climate change, and strengthening knowledge programs in nuclear specializations in universities and academic institutions.”

For his part, Rafael Mariano Grossi expressed his “desire to visit Iraq and the International Agency’s support for it in the field of peaceful use of energy.”

INJAZ, MEPS join forces for educational development

In a collaborative effort to enhance educational development and empower the youth, INJAZ and Middle East Payment Services Company (MEPS) have signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of implementing the Enterprise Business Challenge (EBC) program at the Ain Jalut Secondary School for Girls in Amman.

The deal was inked by CEO of the MEPS Ali Abdel Jabbar, and CEO of INJAZ Deema Bibi.

The EBC strives to engage the private sector’s participation in educational growth through the school adoption campaign launched by INJAz, a local non-profit organization, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

Implemented by INJAZ for the thirteenth consecutive year, the EBC program, in collaboration with the Prince’s Trust International, offers school students an engaging platform to gain hands-on practical experience.

Through this program, students have the opportunity to explore vital concepts and terminology in the realms of entrepreneurship and business ethics.

With a core focus on fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, the program aims to empower participants to become part of a generation driven towards entrepreneurship and engaged in the private sector. Students are encouraged to develop their ideas and present them innovatively, leveraging technology in education.

Additionally, it provides specialized training in project management and team building, facilitated by qualified and trained volunteers.

The cooperation between INJAZ and MEPS, a member of INJAZ’s Board of Trustees, seeks to uplift the Jordanian society, particularly the youth, by providing scientific and practical training, creating economic avenues, and promoting social responsibility.

BIBF provides scholarships to 40 students

The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) organised a signing ceremony to provide scholarships for 40 outstanding students to join the Data Science and Business Analytics bachelor’s degree programme.

This prestigious programme is awarded by the University of London and academically directed by the renowned London School of Economics (LSE), which is among the top 10 universities in the UK.

The students have been carefully selected to join this new and futuristic programme which offers rewarding job opportunities required in the local and global labor market.

Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, CEO of BIBF, noted that the programme was introduced last year to meet the growing demand for data analysts, one of the top high-demanding jobs of the future, which will prepare graduates for an exciting and rewarding career.

Dr. Haifaa Almeer, Head of the Academic Centre, expressed her pride in the students who will shape the future of Data Science and Business Analytics in Bahrain, especially in light of the use of data science for strategic decision-making.

Education Minister announces results of second re-sit exams for grade 9 students

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister, has announced that the marking of the second re-sit exams for the third intermediate students who had failed to pass their exams last year or the previous years has been completed.

The minister unveiled that 90 out of the 126 students who sat the second re-sit exam had passed, with a success rate of 71%, noting that the remaining 36 students either failed again or missed their exams.

Dr. Juma expressed delight at the results, confirming the effectiveness of holding a third round for failing students.

He congratulated those who passed their second re-sit exams, adding that they will receive their certificates from their intermediate schools and join secondary schools.

Regarding the re-sit exams for secondary and technical students, the Education Minister said that the marking process is underway and that their results will be announced by the end of next week.

The Minister of Education Announces Iraq’s Accession To A Global Council For Excellence in Scientific Research


The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced today, Tuesday, that Iraq has joined the Council of the Global Center for Excellence in Scientific Research.



A statement from the ministry stated, “Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Authority, Naeem Al-Aboudi, opened the first international conference on synchrotron applications and modern technologies in scientific research.”



Al-Aboudi stressed that “Iraq’s official accession to the Council of the Global Center for Excellence in Scientific Research (SESAME) opened the way for Iraqi researchers to accomplish advanced scientific research and publish in international journals with a high impact factor and a direct impact on the academic reputation of universities and their global classification.”



He added, “The interaction of Iraqi scientific institutions and centers and positive cooperation with the Atomic Energy Commission and their keenness on scientific and technological progress will give great impetus to the ambition to improve the quality of studies, researchers, and results that will serve the requirements of development.”



During the opening of the conference, which was held by the College of Science at Al-Nahrain university in cooperation with the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, speeches were delivered by the President of Al-Nahrain University and the Dean of the College of Science, in addition to a scientific session presented by Arab and foreign researchers, and a number of presentations on scientific technologies and capabilities presented by specialists in the Council of the International Center for excellence in scientific research./End

Undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships in Pakistan


The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced today the availability of a number of scholarships in the field of postgraduate studies (Master’s and Doctorate) in the Republic of Pakistan, for the academic year 2023-2024.



The Ministry also announced the availability of a number of scholarships for the year 2023-2024 at the Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences in Pakistan, to obtain a bachelor’s degree in various specializations.

She explained that applications for the aforementioned scholarships, accompanied by the required and duly certified documents, must be submitted at its headquarters in the Al-Masyoun neighborhood in Ramallah or at one of the higher education offices in Nablus and Hebron, while applications for Gaza Strip students are submitted at the “higher education” headquarters in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood
